PRESS: Zvezda, Zaliv to bid for construction of icebreakers
MOSCOW, Jul 23 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Far Eastern shipyard Zvezda and Crimea-based shipyard Zaliv, controlled by AK BARS group, plan to take part in a tender for construction of two Arktika-class icebreakers, Kommersant business daily reported Tuesday citing industry sources.
So far, Baltiysky Zavod, part of United Shipbuilding Corporation, has been seen as the main bidder for construction of the icebreakers.
Earlier in July, Atomflot announced a tender for construction of two icebreakers with the maximum cost of 100.1 billion rubles. Bids are accepted until August 5 and results will be announced on August 6. Construction of the icebreakers is due to be completed in December 2024 and December 2026, respectively.
